CTX stands by their products. I recently purchased a Precor elliptical from them & it arrived with a mechanical flaw. They coordinated with a technician to get my product fixed like new. They accomplished this despite the fact that my home was two states away. Special thank you to Nichole for staying accessible and attentive throughout the process!

Rebuilt in our Jarrell, TX shop

What remanufactured means here

Every machine we sell as remanufactured goes through the same process, whatever the brand or the price. Not a wipe-down and a price tag.

Inspected and stripped down

Assessed frame to console, then taken apart and checked part by part. Nothing gets judged from the outside.
Moving parts rebuilt or replaced

Every moving and touched component, from belts and cables to bearings, bushings and grips, is evaluated and rebuilt or replaced, then the machine gets a full cosmetic restoration.
Refinished and rebuilt to spec

Electronics bench-tested, frames and welds checked, panels refinished, then reassembled to the manufacturer's specification.
Tested under load

A full operational cycle under load before it ships. Anything that fails the final check goes back through service, not onto a truck.

Product details

Commercial-grade equipment, inspected and supported by warranty.

Quick answer: The Precor Icarian Smith Machine is a remanufactured commercial plate-loaded smith machine. The counterbalanced bar starts under 15 lb and runs on a fixed linear path, and the open floor-level design has no base crossbars, so a bench rolls in from either side. It measures 56 in. by 87 in. by 93 in. and weighs 635 lb.

The Precor Icarian Smith Machine guides the barbell through a fixed linear path with a counterbalanced bar starting under 15 lb and an open floor-level design - the counterbalanced bar makes the machine accessible to beginners who cannot yet safely handle even an unloaded 45 lb Olympic bar, while the linear path removes the balance demands of free barbell work for users building foundational strength. The open floor-level design eliminates crossbar support members at the base, allowing benches to roll in from either direction without repositioning - a practical design detail that meaningfully reduces setup time between exercises.

Plate-loaded resistance accommodates unlimited progressive overload across all supported movements on a 635 lb commercial Icarian frame, 56" × 87" footprint. Remanufactured.

Key features

Counterbalanced Bar - Under 15 lb Start Weight

The counterbalanced bar starts under 15 lb - accessible to beginners who cannot yet safely handle a standard 45 lb Olympic bar, while the linear path removes the balance demands of free barbell training for users building foundational strength. Scales through progressive plate loading without a resistance ceiling.

Open Floor-Level Design - Bench Access from Either Side

The open floor-level design eliminates the crossbar support members at the base - benches roll in and out from either direction without repositioning the rack. A practical commercial detail that reduces setup time between exercises and increases training floor versatility.

Plate-Loaded · Linear Guided Path · 635 lb Icarian Frame

Olympic plate loading covers the full progressive overload spectrum with no stack ceiling. The fixed linear path provides repeatable movement patterns for safe solo compound training. The 635 lb Icarian commercial frame provides the structural stability for maximal barbell loading in high-frequency commercial use.

Buyer questions

What can you train on the Precor Icarian Smith Machine?

Squats, bench press, overhead press, lunges, bent-over rows, rack pulls, calf raises, and shrugs, all on the same guided bar path.

Is a smith machine or a power rack better for you?

A smith machine guides the bar, which makes solo training and beginner loading simpler. A power rack keeps a free bar path. Our power rack vs smith machine guide walks through the choice.
