BUILT Strength · Factory breakdown

From raw steel to your gym floor

BUILT Strength is made for us by a manufacturing partner in China. We don’t run their floor, we audit it. Our team visits the factory regularly to check the work, review drawings with their engineers, and catch problems before they ship. These photos are from our most recent visit.

  1. Steel comes in

    Step 1

    Steel comes in

Every BUILT frame starts as raw steel tube, stacked and sorted by size before a single cut is made.

  2. Cut to size

    Step 2

    Cut to size

Tube is cut on laser cutters, so holes and joints land in the same place on every machine in a series.

  3. Welded

    Step 3

    Welded

Frames are welded in fixtures, with robotic welders doing much of the work for consistent welds from one unit to the next.

  4. Parts staged

    Step 4

    Parts staged

Welded frames, arms and brackets are staged by machine and checked before they move on to finishing.

  5. Finished

    Step 5

    Finished

Bare frames move through the finishing line, where they get the coating that gives every series its matching look.

  6. Assembled

    Step 6

    Assembled

Crews put machines together, fit the moving parts and hardware, and set them up for checking.

  7. Audited by us

    Step 7

    Audited by us

The factory builds BUILT Strength; we audit the factory’s work frequently. On site we work through machines in person, checking fit, function and finish.

  8. Reviewed with the engineers

    Step 8

    Reviewed with the engineers

We sit down with the factory’s engineers to go through drawings and changes before production runs, so what ships matches what we designed.

  9. Hardware and details

    Step 9

    Hardware and details

Handles, pins and fittings get the same attention as the frame, because those are the parts you touch every set.

  10. Crated for Texas

    Step 10

    Crated for Texas

Machines are crated, loaded into containers and shipped to our Jarrell, TX warehouse, where they are stocked and shipped to you.

What we check when we audit

  • Weld quality on frames and moving arms
  • Fit and alignment once assembled
  • Hardware, pins and fasteners
  • Upholstery and grips
  • Finish and coating
  • Crating before it ships
