The Precor TRM 833 Treadmill with P30 Console delivers 0.5 to 16 mph speed, 0 to 15% incline, Ground Effects® (GFX) impact control, Integrated Footplant Technology™ (IFT), SmartRate® heart rate targeting, 25 programs, touch-sensitive console buttons, and P30 LED display - 456 lb commercial frame, 88"×35" footprint. The TRM 833 sits above the TRM 731 in the Precor line with four meaningful upgrades: 16 mph top speed vs. 12 mph, 456 lb frame vs. 405 lb, 88" length vs. 83", and the addition of Integrated Footplant Technology (IFT) alongside Ground Effects® (GFX). The TRM 731 carries GFX alone; the TRM 833 carries both. GFX is Precor's deck cushioning system that varies firmness along the deck length - firmer at heel-strike for energy return, softer at midfoot for impact absorption. IFT is the complementary technology that adjusts belt tension and motor response based on how and where the foot contacts the belt - specifically, it detects the foot landing pattern and modulates the belt's resistance to the foot strike to produce a more natural, ground-like feel rather than the belt pulling away from or resisting the foot at contact. Together GFX and IFT address both the surface compliance (GFX) and the belt-foot interaction (IFT) that determine how natural the running feel is at speed. The 16 mph ceiling covers genuine sprint range - interval training at top speed is appropriate for competitive runners and athletes using the treadmill for sport conditioning. SmartRate® is Precor's heart rate zone guidance system: it displays which of five heart rate zones the user is currently in relative to their age-predicted maximum, and provides audio and visual alerts when the user exits the target zone. This converts heart rate monitoring from a passive readout into an active coaching tool.
