Product details

Commercial-grade equipment, inspected and supported by warranty.

The Cybex VR3 Lateral Raise is built around a horizontal axis design with angled pads that minimize external shoulder rotation throughout the abduction arc — the two design details work together to keep the medial deltoid as the primary mover rather than allowing the anterior deltoid and rotator cuff to compensate. Proper shoulder joint alignment with the movement path is built into the machine geometry, so each user achieves correct positioning without relying on coaching cues or postural discipline.

A gas spring-assisted seat adjusts quickly between users without manual cranking, and the 165 lb weight stack delivers a smooth, consistent resistance profile through the full abduction range. Core stabilization is naturally encouraged by the seated upright position. 485 lb commercial-grade frame, 50" × 48" footprint. Remanufactured.

Medial Deltoids
Anterior Deltoids Supraspinatus Trapezius Core Stabilizers

Horizontal Axis — Optimal Shoulder Alignment
The horizontal axis positions the shoulder joint correctly relative to the abduction path — aligning the medial deltoid with the resistance vector so the target muscle receives maximum loading throughout the movement rather than sharing it with anterior deltoid compensation.
Angled Pads — Reduced External Rotation
Angled contact pads position the arms to minimize external shoulder rotation during the raise — a design detail that keeps the medial deltoid as the primary mover and reduces the rotator cuff involvement that standard lateral raise machines allow under heavier loads.
Gas Spring-Assisted Seat Adjustment
Gas spring assistance makes seat height changes quick and effortless — no cranking, no friction-loaded manual adjustment. Fast transitions between users of different sizes in high-turnover commercial environments.
Smooth 165 lb Selectorized Stack
A 165 lb stack with Cybex's smooth resistance profile delivers consistent tension through the full lateral raise arc — controlled loading from the bottom of the abduction through peak contraction without resistance spikes or dead zones.

1. How do I select weight on a selectorized machine?

Insert the weight pin into the desired stack hole; ensure it clicks into place before use.

2. What weight stack size should I choose?

Most base level weight stacks can accommodate even advanced lifters, but for the real weight-movers, look for the items with expansion stacks.

3. What maintenance is required?

Inspect guide rods and stack alignment monthly; wipe rods and replace worn bushings annually.

4. Is installation available?

Yes—schedule professional installation during checkout for a seamless setup.

5. What warranty covers these machines?

New units carry full OEM coverage; remanufactured units include a 12 month Build A Gym Guarantee.

30-Day Returns & Exchanges

Buy with confidence. Every Build A Gym order includes a 30-day window to return or exchange, whether you want a different size, color or configuration. Return shipping is the customer's responsibility and a 15% restocking fee applies to preference returns; warranty and damage claims carry no restocking fee.
